"Let each of us accept the truth of the following statement and try to make it our most fundamental principle:  Christ’s teaching will never let us down, while worldly wisdom always will. Christ Himself said that this sort of wisdom was like a house with nothing but sand as its foundation, while His own was like a building with solid rock as its foundation."
~ St. Vincent de Paul

Good evening everyone,
Because our beloved New England Patriots will be playing in the AFC Championship game at 3:00 PM on Sunday January 25, we will not be holding Youth Mass.
Â
That said, Sunday Mass should always remain our priority, so we ask that all students and families attend one of our regular parish Mass times instead.
·    Saturday, 4pm at St. Athanasius
·    Sunday, 8:30am at St. Agnes
·    Sunday, 10am at St. Athanasius
·    Sunday, 11:30am at St. Agnes
Â
Attendance at one of these Masses may be logged and counted as a credit. Please have your child fill out the Confirmation Credit Form to indicate their attendance.
Â
To be as flexible as possible and to avoid any conflict with the game, Confirmation classes will be offered earlier in the day via Zoom. Because our sessions build on one another and we have a limited number of classes remaining this year, we strongly encourage students to attend the Zoom class if possible.
·    Click to join YEAR 1 ZOOM CLASS, Sunday January 25, 1:00-1:45p
·    Click to join YEAR 2 ZOOM CLASS, Sunday January 25, 1:45-2:30p
Â
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We hope this makes the day easier for everyone. Go Pats!
Michelle Goldner

Each candidate will receive an individual email the week of January 18 with a status update that includes:

As a reminder, all missed classes and Confirmation credits must be completed and logged by March 28.
Exception: If your candidate is signed up for My Brother’s Table (3 credits) or the Rosary group (1 credit) in April, these will be counted toward your total – log them ahead of time and indicate anticipated date of service
Â
5.    NEW Service Opportunity – February 8 – added to Youth Service Sign Up Genius
Â
6.    Super Bowl Sunday – February 8 Schedule Change
Due to the Super Bowl on February 8:
a.    There will be no Youth Mass that evening
b.    Year 2 class will meet from 3:00–4:00 PM, before the Year 1 class

Â
2.    March 28 Retreat Registration (Required)
All Year 2 candidates must be registered for the March 28 Confirmation Retreat no later than January 20. Â Please register using this link.
a.    Families who have already informed me of a conflict with the March 28 retreat will receive a separate email with details about an alternate plan.
If you have previously shared a conflict and do not receive that email by tomorrow, Friday, January 9, please reach out to me so I can be sure you were not missed.
Â
3.    Confirmation Dress Attire
As we look ahead to Confirmation, candidates should plan to dress in “Sunday Attire” for the sacrament:
·     If girls wear sleeveless or spaghetti-strap dresses, please be sure they have a sweater or shawl to wear in church.
·     Please avoid very short dresses or skirts.
·     Preferably no sneakers.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Dear Confirmation Families,
I hope you had a very blessed and joyful Christmas.  I love that this weekend the Church celebrated the Holy Family. Like many of our own families, the Holy Family faced uncertainty, fear, and disruption in their early days. And yet by listening to God and trusting His guidance, they continued to care for one another as they endured the difficult situation they were facing.  The Holy Family should be an example for us.  When we spend time in silence and allow ourselves to listen for God’s voice, He reminds us to act with patience and compassion, and to love one another even in our struggles. As we head into 2026, I encourage you to build in time for quiet, prayer, and reflection.
To help you with this, we have a few opportunities coming up in January...
1.    Confirmation Parent Book Group — Begins January 11
A reminder that our Confirmation Parent Book Group begins on January 11. The group will read, Slowing Down to the Speed of Joy by Matthew Kelly, and will gather while the kids are in Confirmation class. Limited spots are available. Find all the details on our SignUp Genius.
Â
2.    From our CTK Womens’ Group Leader, Amy Staffier…
As we prepare to close out the year, I am so excited for our gathering tomorrow, Tuesday, December 30th. We’ll be looking at the beautiful relationship between Mary and Elizabeth—a blueprint for how we can encourage one another in our own faith journeys.
This Tuesday’s Meeting:
·     Theme: Elizabeth & Mary: Friendship and Encouragement.
·     Focus: Fellowship, small group sharing, and a light "in-reach" service project to bless our parish leaders and those in the pews.
·     Location: St. Agnes Parish Center, 2nd Floor - 6:30pm
Looking Ahead: The Friendship Project
Starting in January, we will begin our next study: The Friendship Project: The Catholic Woman’s Guide to Making and Keeping Fabulous Faith-Filled Friends.
Given the "cold and dark" of January and February (and our busy parish calendar!), we’ve decided to move the 8-session book study to Zoom on Monday evenings. Our hope is that this makes it easier for everyone to participate from the warmth of home. We will watch the videos together and then use "Breakout Rooms" for the small group discussions you love.
How to Prepare:
1.    Get the Book: You can order your copy on Amazon here
2.    Mark Your Calendars: Monday nights starting January 5th.
3.    Register: Here is the registration link - once registered, you will be sent the zoom link! If you can not make all 8 sessions - THAT IS OK! The sessions do not build off of each other.  We want people to participate when and how they can!!
Â
Lastly, the Parent Guides will continue to be available for pickup in the parish center. Â Beginning January 5, our new office hours will be Monday-Wednesday 9:30a-3:30p and Thursdays 9:30a-6:30p to give working families the opportunity to stop by after their work day. Â The office will no longer be open on Friday mornings.
Â
Once again, there are several opportunities for candidates to log credits this week with January 1 being a Holy Day in addition to our regular Sunday Mass and Adoration schedules.
Â
Once again, I thank you for your commitment to your children’s faith formation, and the ways you continue to support our parish community. May the Holy Family be a source of peace, hope, and guidance for each of you in the new year.

Â
Dear Year 1 & Year 2 Families,
Â
I wanted to reach out to share that last night, we began each session by praying a decade of the rosary for one of our Year 2 Leaders, Rosalee Scozzari. On Friday, Rosalee experienced a sudden cardiac event in the parking lot of her PCP’s office. She was found unresponsive with no pulse, and through the quick intervention of medical staff, she was brought back. Her recovery has been so remarkable that doctors have called it a miracle. Rosalee and her family have asked that this be shared as a witness to God’s healing power and providence. The rosary is a powerful tool that reorients our hearts. After just one decade, there was a noticeable sense of calm and peace in the room last night.  Please continue to pray for Rosalee.
Â
Both groups also heard how some of our adult volunteers chose their Confirmation saint names. We reviewed resources on our Confirmation webpage and listened to a short podcast on choosing a saint. The Hallow app has been one of the most-used faith resources in my own family—there is often a free trial worth exploring.
Â
I also wanted to follow up regarding the Confirmation Credit Form and Missed Class Form, as it seems some students may not yet be familiar with them. These were introduced earlier in the year, and leaders have reviewed them with individual groups, but with varying attendance week to week, some students may have missed it. Â You can access the one-page handout of QR codes that were shared at the start of the year HERE. I kindly ask that you print and review them with your child, or have your child bookmark the webpage so they know how to access and use the forms moving forward.
Â
At this time, approximately 60% of Year 1 and 49% of Year 2 students have logged credits. Credits are due March 28 and are meant to support students in practicing their faith beyond the classroom. Ten credits over the course of the year should be manageable (it’s about one during each non-class week) and many can be earned through Mass attendance or parish events. This weekend we have Overnight Adoration on Friday evening to Saturday morning, and Lessons & Carols on Saturday evening. If finding service opportunities has been challenging for your child, please reach out so we can work together to make a plan.
Â
My hope from the beginning of the year has been to invite families and students into something I have personally experienced - that when we make space for God in our lives, the Holy Spirit truly meets us and begins to work in our hearts. Â My goal is that every candidate is supported and prepared to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Â The Year 2 interviews in March are one way we discern that readiness together, by giving candidates the opportunity to share how they have been preparing for the sacrament.
Â
Updates:
·    The 12/11/2025 Parent Meeting Zoom recording is posted at the top of this page.
o  The Parent Guide referenced will be available this weekend (students may pick it up in class, or families can pick it up at the office; it may be helpful to have over Christmas break).
o  We reviewed the role of the sponsor, which is now clearly outlined on the "Choosing Your Confirmation Name & Your Sponsor" tab on this page.  A sponsor is a lifelong spiritual mentor, must be a Confirmed Catholic and at least 16 years old. If a sponsor cannot attend the ceremony, a proxy may stand in and should also attend rehearsal.
·    Our Confirmation Parent Book Group (Slowing Down to the Speed of Joy) begins in January. Get a sneak peek of the book from the author himself by visiting Best Advent Ever. Meetings will take place during your child’s class time, offering community and practical ways to slow down without adding to your schedule. A limited number of slots are available. For more information or to sign up, click here: Parent Book Group Sign Up Genius
Â
The Confirmation page on the website is updated regularly and includes my detailed emails. Please check here first, as most questions can be answered in just a few minutes.
Â
I continue to pray for all of you as we journey toward Confirmation together. I ask that you please keep me and my family in your prayers as well.
Â
Have another blessed week of Advent!
