Preparing for the Confirmation Mass - Confirmation Retreat
One of the traditional practices in the Church at the time of Confirmation is choosing a name that will remind you of this sacrament and to signify your new and deeper awareness of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. If the choice is made to add a new name, it is to be a Christian name. It should reflect a saint whom you can admire and imitate.
Candidates are required to choose a Saint's name to become their Confirmation name and should be a person they wish to emmulate. If you are choosing to use your given name as your Confirmation Name, you will write your given name on the online form.

The Sponsor is fully initiated into the Catholic Faith (having been Confirmed) and is of minimum age of 16 years old.
Our Community welcomes you and your family to join us on the journey with your candidate the next two years of their preparation for the sacrament and beyond! We are a family orientated community that is actively embracing it's role in the works of Missionary Discipleship. It is important that when Confirmed each young person is encouraged to serve the Church with their God given talents as well as feel confident to evangelize others, a Sponsor's support is vital.
Choosing your sponsor is one of the most important decisions that students will make during the preparation process. It requires discernment and prayer. A sponsor needs to be willing and able to make the faith journey with the candidate.

Putting Faith into action. Core to Jesus' teaching is the Gospel mandate to serve, tying the concept of service to scripture and a greater lesson. Christian service is a central tenet of the Catholic faith and therefore a key aspect to Confirmation Preparation.

As Catholics, we are called, and Chosen, by God to affirm our faith in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation completes our "Initiation" into the Catholic Church. Preparation is a two year process that begins in 9th grade and continues through 10th grade. It includes small group meetings, weekly celebration of the Eucharist, service to others, and spending time with God in prayer.
Confirmation I candidates attending Catholic School are not required to attend group meetings though we encourage and invite these candidates to make the two-year journey of preparation in the Spirit of community with their Confirmation Candidate peers and with our parishes. Confirmation II candidates attending Catholic School are required to attend Group meetings.
Candidates meet in Small Groups led by a volunteer Catechist, and remain in their Small Group for the entire two-year preparation.
