"The Reading St. Vincent de Paul Conference has been helping Christ the King parishioners and Reading residents for 14 years. We provide financial assistance, advocacy and connectivity to various support programs/services, and friendship to those in their times of crisis and beyond."
The Conference is made up of women and men who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals and families in need. We are part of an international society of friends united by a spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing nourished by prayer and reflection.
Energized by the awareness that service to our brother or sister in need is in fact an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ, members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are keenly aware that poverty, suffering, and loneliness are present for many in our community. For this reason, they work with all who seek to relieve a need and address its causes.
One of the many services the Conference performs is the Summer Family Food Program. The Conference, assisted by members of the Reading Knights of Columbus, delivers groceries weekly during the summertime to Reading families with school-age children who are having difficulty meeting their food needs.
Rosary and Adoration
Please join St. Vincent de Paul Society members and your fellow parishioners for a quiet and spiritual Rosary session each Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the St. Agnes church.
All are welcome.
