2024 Youth Service Trip Recap
In early June 2024, we had a fundraiser to raise money for the youth service trip.  The winning ticket was pulled at the June 19 Parish Council meeting and Christine Ambrose was the lucky winner! We were overwhelmed by the support and raised more than enough money to cover the cost of transportation.  On June 22, nine of our parishioners traveled to Drexel Hill, PA to attend Catholic Heart Workcamp. They joined campers from Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, Tennessee, and beyond, to serve the people of Philadelphia.  Work groups participated in a variety of "jobs" such as painting rooms for a local senior center, cleaning and organizing a church basement and several rooms of their school, removing furniture and painting homes, performing yard work, and planting trees.  Each camper completed over 30 hours of service during their four work days! In addition, they attended daily mass, enjoyed praise & worship music, listened to other teens and young adults share their faith journeys, played games, experienced adoration, and learned that talking about your faith with other Catholic teens can actually be an uplifting, rewarding, and fun experience.   We will be returning to Drexel Hill, PA for Sunday June 22-Friday June 27, 2025. Camp is open to students currently in grade 7 or above (must be entering grade 8 in September 2025), as well as young adults ages 18-20.  We also need several male and female chaperones to join us.  Most of our chaperones have attended multiple times, with and without their own children.  It is an absolutely amazing week for all!
